Careers
Residential childcare takes skill, consistency and heart.
Children remember the adults who stayed dependable when things were difficult. We invest in staff who can build relationships, think reflectively, and provide the consistency children need.
What the work actually asks of you.
Residential care includes ordinary routines and difficult moments. You may be cooking dinner one hour and helping a child regulate after a distressing event the next. The role needs patience, clear boundaries, good recording, teamwork, and the ability to come back the next day with the same respect for the child.
Turn up. Stay calm. Come back tomorrow.
Induction, training and support.
We do not expect you to arrive knowing everything. We do expect you to keep learning.
A structured start
New staff complete a structured induction, including 5–10 shadow shifts, before taking on their full responsibilities within the home’s agreed staffing arrangements.
Training
Training includes PRICE training and PACE training.
Qualifications and supervision
A funded Level 4/5 qualification is available after probation. Staff receive monthly consultant psychotherapist reflective and clinical supervision alongside management supervision.
